LifeForce Yoga® to Manage Your Mood

This course is a pre-requisite for the LifeForce Yoga® Practitioner Training.
LifeForce Yoga® interweaves the power of an ancient discipline with current scientific findings to help you release what’s no longer serving you—without a story attached! In this inspiring workshop, you will learn and practice breathing exercises, easy postures, guided meditations, and other experiential yogic tools for managing your mood.
We’ll practice:
- Pranayama and kriya breathing techniques that regulate the emotions
- Meditations that lift the mood
- Creating Affirmation (sankalpa)
- LifeForce Yoga® Bhavana (Imagery)
- LifeForce Yoga® Chakra Clearing Meditation
- LifeForce Yoga® Nidra
- Tones that regulate the emotions (mantras)
- Yoga asanas suitable for multilevel practitioners
- Self-Inquiry through writing and Dyad Sharing
You will leave feeling refreshed, renewed, and excited about your at-home or teaching practice with new tools to bring balance to the emotional and physical body. Accessible for all levels, including beginners. Psychotherapists, health professionals, and yoga teachers will learn techniques not regularly taught in yoga classes to help their clients focus, relax, and have greater access to their feelings.

Amy Weintraub, founder of the LifeForce Yoga® Healing Institute and author of the bestselling Yoga for Depression (Broadway Books, 2004) and the ground-breaking Yoga Skills for Therapists: Effective Practices for Mood Management (W.W. Norton, 2012), has been a pioneer in the field of yoga and mental health for over 20 years. She trains health and yoga professionals at notable international venues and offers workshops for everyday practitioners. The LifeForce Yoga® protocol is being used in residential treatment centers, hospitals and by healthcare providers around the world. She is involved in ongoing research on the effects of yoga on mood and has produced an award-winning library of evidence-based yoga and meditation CDs and DVDs for mood management. Lena Franklin, LCSW, is a mindfulness-based psychotherapist and international wellness guide who teaches that to journey inward is our highest calling. Integrating Eastern philosophy with Western neuroscience, Lena’s holistic healing work is grounded in Buddhist psychology and LifeForce Yoga. Lena’s mindfulness-based business encompasses individual client work, mindfulness corporate trainings, personal growth workshops, and international retreats. Raised in a hybrid Buddhist/Christian household, Lena was introduced to meditation as a young child. Alyce E. Wellons, LCSW, has been a psychotherapist in private practice in Atlanta for more than 18 years, working with individuals and couples in short- and long-term psychotherapy. A LifeForce Yoga practitioner, Alyce leads teaches people to use body-
based healing modalities for wellness and healing in work and life. She practices at the intersection of theory and neurobiology with mindfulness and body-based modalities, inviting everyone to tap into the body’s natural capacity to heal itself. Alyce believes in the respectful use of humor and laughter as a way to connect and navigate difficult passages.
