Beating the Coronavirus Quarantine Blues

Being at home and alone can be nourishing. But that is when we elect to do so. Right now, so many of us are being forced to stay at home because of the situation. It is difficult to dive into the nourishing aspects of solitude when we are unsure of our future, how we might pay the bills, if we are going to get sick, or where our next meal might come from. Knowing that so many others are suffering n the same way does not change our feelings.

How do we manage these feelings?

What we need is to stabilize ourselves. Stress, depression, and anxiety can decrease our immune systems, lead to poor sleep, sluggish digestion, confused minds, and physical issues. While we cannot change our immediate situation with yoga tools, we can change the impact of this situation on our body, mind, and spirit. We can learn how to ride the waves of our feelings without being controlled by them.
