Finding Our Truths

video preview

Dear Reader,

March is here and I am excited about a new month beginning. In December, I set a number of intentions for 2026. Some of those were to write more, share more, make more videos, and come back to consistent online classes. With the help of some major changes, I am consistent in those actions, since December! It feels like such a big win. This is not without hiccoughs, but none the less, I am persistent, or stubborn, ha. Super happy to be returning to online yoga sessions. Information and registration here and below.

Satya (truthfulness) is the alignment of thoughts, words, and actions. The practice of satya is beyond refraining from lies, it includes restraint from words that are deceitful, delusive, derisive, and meaningless to the listener.
Rama Jyoti Vernon, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras: Gateway to Enlightenment Book Two

My theme for March is Truth. The first place my mind went was a line from a Tori Amos song, “skating around the truth of who I am.” It comes from the song Winter which is about a father/daughter relationship where the daughter does not see or understand her worth. The song asks, “when you gonna love you as much as I do?”

The throat chakra is more than speaking up or listening to others, it is also about knowing, understanding, and following your true path. What a challenge! I think I have finally come to the core of understanding my path, maybe. I thought of it as “healing,” then “teaching,” and now I know it as “service.” My work, my path in this word is to serve others. I do it best through teaching and I do it through the other skills I have collected along the way. At the end of the day, though, I feel whole and complete through serving others. In the past four months, I have been dedicated to service and it feels so right and so good.

Hopefully, this serves as an inspiration for you to get curious about your own path in life. If you do not know what it is or you are still exploring maybe this will help: what are you doing when you feel most like yourself?

Make a list of all the things you do, every last one, where when you are in the action of it, or have completed it, you feel most like yourself. By “yourself” I mean feelings of embodiment, home, presence, ease, joyfulness, expanded, peaceful, satisfied, confident, etc. It is those moments when you rush in without an ounce of reluctance or timidity. Those moments where you say to yourself, “I GOT this!” Think about this all week, mull it over, and observe yourself in the world. Then, next week I will ask you a follow up question!

This week in Awakening Abundance, we are working with the Throat center, Vishuddha chakra. Our open hearts from last week guide us into affectionate listening. We will connect with our voices and being the journey of aligning with our true paths. Please join us (details and registration).
